The FrauenMusikForum Schweiz FMF encourages the work of women in music and improves their position in the music professin. The secretariat is housed in Bern along with the European Archive FMF, which contains more than 5000 works by women composers, as well as books and recordings. The FMF publishes clingKlong in German, French and Italian, and Newsletters with current information and concert dates.
The FMF acts as an information centre, combats sexual harassment and discrimination, oversees research projects, has an Italian daughter organisation 'Suonodonne', and forms part of an international network of organisations with similar objectives.

The FMF has been in existence since 1982, and has been supported by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture since 1995.
